The 1st Humanities City Seminar and the Inaugural Ceremony of the Graduate School of Culture Alumni Association, Incheon National University

On May 31, Incheon National University (President Injae Lee) held the 1st Humanities City Seminar and the Inaugural Ceremony of the Graduate School of Culture Alumni Association at Convention Center Room 101.

The seminar, held under the theme “Theories and Tasks of the Humanities City Discourse,” was co-hosted by the Graduate School of Culture and the Humanities City Research Institute. The keynote presentation was delivered by Dr. Changsoo Kim, Director of the Humanities City Research Institute (former Deputy Director of the Incheon Institute). Panel discussions followed with Professor Sangwon Kim (Dept. of Cultural Contents & Management, Inha University) and Adjunct Professor Singyu Yeom (Graduate School of Culture, INU / Director of the Korea Cultural Policy Research Institute). The session was chaired by Professor Yongmin Kim (Dept. of French Language & Literature), and moderated by Professor Jongseo Kim (Chair of Regional Culture, Graduate School of Culture).

Following the seminar, the Inaugural Ceremony of the Graduate School of Culture Alumni Association took place with a celebratory performance. The ceremony was attended by over 80 guests, including Incheon National University President Injae Lee, Dean of the Graduate School of Culture Geonsang Lee, Vice Dean Hosang Lee, Chair Jongseo Kim, Professors Yongmin Kim, Sangjeong Han, and Dongyeok Son, as well as Dr. Changsoo Kim. Also in attendance were Councilwoman Seongsook Jang (Incheon City Council, Culture & Welfare Committee), Vice President Giwoo Lee (Gyeongin Broadcasting), and various cultural leaders and media representatives.

The celebration concluded with a congratulatory performance by I-Sinfonietta.

The Alumni Association plans to foster stronger ties between graduates and current students through regular gatherings, and to establish sustainable human networks by collaborating with various cultural institutions and organizations, ultimately enhancing cultural communication in the local community.
